{"id":241,"date":"2011-12-23T04:16:04","date_gmt":"2011-12-23T09:16:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.anilchopra.com\/personal\/why-i-oppose-organic-food\/"},"modified":"2011-12-23T04:32:04","modified_gmt":"2011-12-23T09:32:04","slug":"why-i-oppose-organic-food","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anilchopra.com\/blog\/personal\/why-i-oppose-organic-food\/","title":{"rendered":"Why I Oppose Organic Food?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Few weeks back at a conference I was almost shouted down when I began opposing organic food. <\/p>\n<p>My main arguments were on the near impossibility of producing <strong>REAL<\/strong> organic food in an ever shrinking land holdings and cost of production, which in my view, shall remain prohibitive because of low productivity &#8211; unless of course one allows GM seeds under organic regime.     <\/p>\n<p>Genuine organic stuff would require one to maintain isolation distances so that so though harmful chemicals in soil, air and underground water aquifers from inorganic neighbors don\u2019t creep in one\u2019s organic production systems.&#160; <\/p>\n<p>Obviously, I could not find an ally at that conference. Yesterday however I found one when I stumbled upon a Washington Post article at <a title=\"http:\/\/is.gd\/eru8Ve\" href=\"http:\/\/is.gd\/eru8Ve\">http:\/\/is.gd\/eru8Ve<\/a>&#160;<\/p>\n<p>What a solid argument?
